Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Overview
RequestDock ("we", "us", "our") is a browser-based API client. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.
2. Data Storage
RequestDock is designed as a local-first application. Your API requests, collections, environments, and settings are stored in your browser's IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
3. Authentication (Clerk)
If you choose to create an account, we use Clerk for authentication. Clerk processes your email address, name, and authentication credentials. Clerk's privacy policy governs how they handle your authentication data. An account is optional — all core features work without signing in.
4. Cloud Sync (Convex)
If you sign in and enable cloud sync, your collections and requests are stored on Convex, our backend provider. This data is associated with your account and can be deleted at any time from your account settings. If you do not sign in, no data is sent to Convex.
5. Shared Links
When you create a shared link, the request data included in that link is stored on our servers and accessible via the generated URL. Shared links can be deleted from your account. Do not include sensitive information (API keys, passwords, tokens) in shared requests.
6. API Proxy
RequestDock includes an optional server-side proxy to bypass CORS restrictions. When you use the proxy, your request is forwarded through our server. We do not log request bodies, headers, or responses. Only minimal metadata (timestamp, status code) may be retained for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
7. Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as page views and performance metrics. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics. You can opt out by using a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts.
8. Cookies
RequestDock uses essential cookies for authentication sessions (via Clerk) and theme preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Since most data is stored locally in your browser, you can clear it by clearing your browser data. For cloud-synced data, use the account settings to delete your data or delete your account entirely.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of RequestDock after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
